Men use stick during armed robbery, assault | 911

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Officers with the Wilmington Police Department are investigating an armed robbery that happened around 1:45 Tuesday morning.

According to police, a man reported he was riding his bike around Ninth and Market Streets when he was approached by three people, one whom appeared to have a stick.

The victim told police they asked for a cigarette and then started to beat him, stole his bike, cell phone and about $200 in cash.

The victim was able to get away, and refused to be seen by EMS. He was taken to the WPD to view photos of potential suspects.
