WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – An officer with the Wilmington Police Department wrecked her cruiser while responding to a call Thursday afternoon.

Police spokesperson, Lucy Crockett, said the officer was on the way to 10th and Campbell Streets, where a man was beaten.

Crockett says the officer had her emergency lights on at the time and crashed into the back of a car while trying to maneuver around traffic in the 2600 block of Princess Place.

No one was injured, and there is no word yet on the extent of the damages to the cars that were involved.
