WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Officers with the Wilmington Police Department helped locate a missing elderly man in the early morning hours Friday.
According to a WPD spokesperson, an officer was dispatched to the 410 block of Campbell Street in reference to a missing 75-year-old who has Alzheimer’s and dementia around 4:35.
Another officer soon showed up and met with the victim’s daughter, who said that her father had been missing for about an hour.
A description of the man was broadcast to all units, and a search was conducted by police.
About 15 minutes after arriving on scene, the victim was located, barefoot and with a walking stick, by an officer near N. 10th and Rankin streets.
The man was treated by EMS officials and released to his family.
