WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Warrants have been issued for a man accused of possessing a weapon of mass destruction, a stolen firearm and possessing a firearm as a felon, according to a spokesperson with the Wilmington Police Department.
Officers responded the 3020 block of Pauline Lane over the weekend in reference to a domestic disturbance.
The caller said she got into a verbal dispute with her boyfriend, a felon. She said that he had a shotgun in the house.
When police arrived, the suspect, Joe David, had already left, but the caller gave officers permission to search the house. They found a stolen pistol and sawed off shotgun.
The sawed off shotgun is considered a weapon of mass destruction because the weapon was altered to make it more deadly.
