Robbers take flat screen TV, leave it in the yard

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Three men forced their way into a home in the 200 block of Williamson Drive Saturday evening around 5:45.

According to police, a female was home alone when she answered a knock at the door. One of the three men hit the victim in the eye with a handgun.

Police say the men took the victim's prescription medication, Wii game system, and a flat screen TV which they left in the front yard.

Authorities say the robbers were seen getting into a vehicle described as a grey Trailblazer.

Man accused of sexual assault after offering woman a ride

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Police are searching for a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman on Carolina Beach Road late Saturday night.

According to police, the victim was walking in the 1700 block of Carolina Beach Road when a stranger driving a tan Trooper-style jeep stopped to offer her a ride, which she accepted.

The victim told police the man made a suggestive remark about a sexual act while they were in the car and tried to get away but couldn’t escape. She said the man drove her to a used car lot and sexually assaulted her.

According to police, the victim was eventually able to get out of the vehicle and run away.

The case is under investigation.

ARMED ROBBERY: Man takes off with a bag full of clothes

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A man approached a woman returning to her car parked near Walnut and Water Streets around 7:45 Sunday night and took off with a bag of clothes.

According to police, the victim said she was getting something from the back seat when a man wearing a dark hoodie approached and put a gun to her head.

The victim told police the man did not speak, but grabbed a bag from the front seat of the vehicle and ran.

According to the victim, the bag had clothing in it.

Accused robbers use woman's voice to lure in victim

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Two men with handguns are accused of robbing a woman in her home located in the 400 block of N. 12 Street Sunday night just before 8:45.

According to police, the victim said she noticed someone trying to turn her front door knob trying to get in about 15 minutes before she was robbed. The victim looked out the peep hole and saw a man standing in front of the door wearing a hoodie and a white bandanna.

The victim didn’t open the door or call police, but told officials that a short time later someone knocked at the door and a woman’s voice asked for her by name.

According to police, the victim opened the door and two men armed with handguns went into her apartment while a woman and third man waited outside.

The intruders demanded cash, so the victim handed over money and they left.

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Officers with the Wilmington Police Department are searching for a man accused of robbing another man early Monday morning.

According to police, the victim told authorities he was walking back to the Hilton around 1:20 a.m. when a stranger jumped him from behind and knocked him down.

The victim told authorities the attacker tried to reach into his pockets but didn’t take anything.

Police say responding officers were unable to locate a suspect.

Suspect’s bond set at $1M following cocaine, heroin charges

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A Wilmington man arrested in connection to drug charges faces a $1 million bond, according to a spokesperson with the Wilmington Police Department.

Police served a search warrant in the 200 block of N. 12th Street Wednesday night, where drugs were discovered.

As a result, Kinwana Antwane Long, 33, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin within 1,000 feet of a school, manufacturing heroin, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for drug-related purposes, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

ARRESTED: Man breaks into home, gets naked

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A man has been arrested after allegedly breaking into a woman's home and stripping off his clothes.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, a woman called 911 after a man she did not know walked into her house on E. Lake Shore Drive through the garage.

The victim said she screamed and ran to a neighbor's home to call for help. She told authorities she could see the man took off all his clothing.

Officers arrived and found Jerry Crawford, 26, in the backyard. He was naked. His clothes were inside the house.

Crawford was arrested and taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center. After being cleared, he was taken to the New Hanover County Jail.

Crawford is charged with indecent exposure, breaking and entering, and damage to personal property. He was booked on a $2,200 secure bond.
