First sighting of 'Somebody's Child' filming in downtown Wilmington | Arts & Culture

WILMINGTON (WECT) - WECT caught a first glimpse of a new movie that's being filmed in Wilmington.

Actors and actresses filming scenes from "Somebody's Child" could be seen rehearsing lines on Water Street on Monday.

The movie is about twins who are reunited after finding out their mother needs a kidney transplant. They’re separated for nearly 40 years before they see each other again.

The movie is commissioned by the Gospel Music Channel (GMC) and the director said it will capture the heart of movie goers of all ages.

“It's a great cast, great location and an award-winning script, and so I think people are going to go see it because of the hopeful message," said film director Gary Wheeler.

This movie is set to air August 11 on GMC.
