WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Dirt Poor Filmmakers Festival, a monthly event in downtown Wilmington, will be hosting its second screening of the year Wednesday night, according to organizers.
The event will kick off at 10 p.m., and will be held at The Calico Room. Along with film screenings, there will be live performances from local musicians and DJs.
“In conjunction with the Dirt Poor’s mantra, all submissions are free, cover charge is donation based, and snacks are provided at no charge,” said a spokesperson for the event. “A percentage of the donations will be used to give back to the filmmakers who were screened.”
Films are screened the last Wednesday of each month, and a variety of films are always welcome to be submitted, including narratives, documentaries, experimental, animation, and music videos.
Currently, organizers are seeking or Halloween-themed submissions for their Halloween screening.
The Calico Room is located at 107 South Front Street.
