WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The creators of a film produced in the Wilmington area are looking for help so they can take the movie to upcoming festivals.

According to a fundraising website for The Hermit, the movie is a coming of age story that focuses on a man who has become so disenchanted with the world around him that he has chosen to remove himself from it, and a little girl with a drunk and abusive father who is searching for her own escape. Together they might both find salvation.

Local actors Charles Auten, Gray Hawks and Terrie Batson star in the film, along with young actress Mia Clarke from Nights in Rodanthe.

Donations are being accepted to help offset the costs of making the movie and entering it into film festivals. To watch a trailer of the film and/or donate money, click here.
