The event is called "Black Poets Speak" and features a series of 30 audio recordings of African-American poetry which cover a range of historical periods, from slavery to present day.
After listening to the recordings, people can visit a "Reflection Station" to respond with their own reactions.
Some local talent will appear at the event, including regional authors Glenis Redmond, Shelton Green, Lenard D. Moore, Jason Mott and L. Lamar Wilson.
