Chairman Davis to present state of the county address | Business

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – New Hanover County Commission Chairman Ted Davis, Jr. will present his state of the county address on Monday, Feb. 6.

Davis is expected to speak at 6 p.m. at the Historic Courthouse, located at 24 N. Third Street.

A reception will follow the address, which will be broadcasted live via NHC-TV on Time Warner Cable channel 13 and Charter Cable channel 5.

The address will also be streamed at www.nhcgov.com.

Last year, Chairman Jonathan Barfield spoke about reorganizing volunteer fire departments, developments underway for Smith Creek Park and an overhaul at the Department of Social Services during his state of the county address.

After the address and reception, the commissioners will hold their regular meeting.

• Approval to apply for two Library Services and Technology Act grants
• Adoption of a resolution approving the Soles Source award for the purchase of additional self-checkout systems to Integrated Technology Group
• Mid-year update presentation by Wilmington Downtown, Inc.
