NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – The search for a new president at Cape Fear Community College is down to six finalists.
The CFCC Presidential Search Committee met Thursday afternoon to pick the six finalists in a closed session. The group plans to notify the finalists before releasing their names in late July or early August.
Interviews should begin in mid-August. Each of the candidates will participate in an on-campus question and answer forum and an interview with the board of trustees.
After nearly two decades as the school’s president, Dr. Eric McKeithan will retire soon. "The gratification for me is seeing graduates getting good jobs and moving on to four-year universities to change their lives," McKeithan said in a news release recently.
His final day at CFCC is Friday.
