WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo joined fourth-graders from Winter Park Elementary Wednesday for a tour of the historic Burgwin-Wright House in downtown Wilmington.
The museum is a designated field trip for fourth grade students in New Hanover County.
The mayor took part in this field trip when he was a youngster and shared some of his memories from that visit with students Wednesday. Saffo will also talk about the importance of historic preservation.
The Burgwin-Wright House and its adjacent kitchen are fully furnished, offering students a vivid experience of life in colonial Wilmington.
