WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – An old skate ramp from Wrightsville Beach was donated to the Brigade Boys and Girls Club of Wilmington Wednesday, and the organization is already seeing a lot of support from the community.
According to the director of development at the Club, several members in the community have donated skateboard equipment.
Jim Mincher, the originally owner of the skate ramp, was told by the Town of Wrightsville Beach that he had to take down the ramp that he had built more than 15 years ago.
A couple of volunteers got together to move the ramp, which had to be broken into four parts, to its new home.
While the club has received some donations, it is still in need of helmets skateboards and volunteers.
