WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Coast Guard Cutter Diligence had to delay its departure Wednesday due to inclement weather building near the Caribbean.
The ship was scheduled to leave around 9 a.m. Wednesday, however, due to tropical storm Sandy, they are rerouting their voyage as the ship looks to be in the direct path of Sandy.
"We're taking a look at the track storm and figuring out the safest option to get down south," said Ensign Myles McCarthy of the USCGC Diligence
Diligence is now rescheduled to leave at 2:45 Wednesday afternoon.
