WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -  With just a few weeks left before the election, students with disabilities will give a unique perspective on national and local political issues at an upcoming event at Cape Fear Community College.

The event will be held on Monday, Oct. 29 and is called “In-Cahoots 2: Election Edition.”

“In-Cahoots” is an ongoing project to promote collaboration between CFCC students with and without disabilities.

Jeremy Vest of MTV's “How’s Your News?” will host the event and share excerpts from a recent video he made with a news team made up of journalists with disabilities such as Down’s Syndrome and cerebral palsy at the 2012 Democratic and Republican national conventions.

Vest will share his experiences interviewing national political figures, reveal what it’s like to live with a disability, and answer audience questions. The event will also feature a video about the election made by CFCC film students and students with disabilities.

The event is from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. in room S-002 on the ground floor of the McLeod building and is free and open to the public.
