WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A non-profit leader in Wilmington is a getting a little "R&R" thanks to a sabbatical grant from a foundation.
Frankie Roberts, the Executive Director of Leading Into New Communities , Inc. (LINC) is one of five recipients of the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation's sabbatical grants. Roberts has been awarded with $25,000 to use towards an extended break from work to focus on personal needs.
Also receiving the grant htis year are Jennifer Herman from OASIS, Mavis Hill of Tyrrell County Community Development Corporation, Chris Kromm of the Institute for Southern Studies and Dawn Rochelle of the Onslow County Partnership for Children.
According to the news release, Roberts will spend his sabbatical with family, including his wife, two sons, daughter, four grandchildren and his mother. He also plans to read, mediate, exercise and travel.
