WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Cape Fear Community College Foundation has added five new board members recently.
The board is made up of 25 people. New to the board this year are Euran Daniels, Betsy Leonard, Janet Monterose, Elizabeth Pancoe and Jason Wheeler.
The CFCC Foundation released information about each of its new board members. We've copied it for you below:
Euran Daniels is working to promote collaborations between the minority community, Cape Fear Community College and UNCW through awareness, scholarships and his work with numerous entities in the community. He currently works with Wave Transit, the UNCW Cameron School of Business, and the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce. He has achieved numerous milestones within his lifetime, beginning at the age of ten when he started his own video production company. His motto is, “If better is possible, then good is not enough.”
Betsy Leonard established an endowed scholarship at CFCC and has introduced numerous supporters to the college. She loves CFCC, attends as many events as possible, and organizes CFCC’s Holiday Helpers program every year. Leonard has previously served as the Chair of the CFCC Foundation Board and has also served on the Catherine Kennedy Home Board, the Vestry at St. James Parish and the Junior League of Wilmington. Leonard says, “This is one of the most satisfying boards that I have ever served on because this foundation work provides immediate and direct assistance to students. We need to support these students because they support us on a daily basis.”
Janet Monterose is currently a member of the Wilmington Rotary Club and serves on the UNCW Seahawk Board. She is a partner in Pawn USA, Inc. and not only does she have an endowment with CFCC, but her company contributes as well. One of Monterose’s passions is teaching scuba diving. Monterose says, “My teaching has put me in contact with a lot of the parents about the many opportunities offered by Cape Fear Community College.”
Elizabeth Pancoe currently serves with the Chamber of Commerce, Cameron Art Museum, Habitat for Humanity, UNCW, Historic Wilmington Foundation, Phoenix Employment Ministries, and many more Wilmington entities. She is the president at SDI Construction Inc. and has achieved numerous awards including, the Civitan Good Citizenship of the Year Award, Volunteer Philanthropist Award and the National Nova Award for Athletic Clubs. Pancoe has chaired numerous fundraising campaigns and gives back to the community generously. Pancoe states, “It is a pleasure to serve on the CFCC Foundation Board because I get to learn about the foundation and about the outstanding programs taking place at Cape Fear Community College.”
Jason Wheeler currently serves on the UNCW Foundation Board, UNCW Alumni Association and the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce Board. He is also a Leadership Wilmington alumnus and worked as the Logistics Chair for Work on Wilmington in 2011. Wheeler is passionate about education. Not only has he taught UNCW finance classes but he also volunteers with student projects. Wheeler believes that “education is a critical component to building a strong community. Providing learning opportunities gives a person the ability to awaken their passion and helps them create a sense of purpose and identity. Cape Fear Community College is working to develop the potential in great people and great people are the foundation of a great community.”
