WILMINGTON – Cape Fear Community College is accepting applications for its Pharmacy Technology program in the fall of 2013.
The one-year diploma program prepares students to work as pharmacy technicians, who support pharmacists in providing medications and medical information to patients in a wide variety of settings.
According to college officials, the local job market remains strong for qualified pharmacy technicians. Recent CFCC graduates have found positions with local pharmacies, hospitals and other health care facilities.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that the national employment outlook for qualified pharmacy technicians will increase by 32 percent until 2020.
For more details about the program, CFCC will hold a series of information sessions starting on Wednesday, February 13 from 3-4 p.m. in the pharmacy technology lab in room L-330 in the Health Sciences Building at the downtown Wilmington Campus.
The college will offer additional information sessions on March 27 and on April 17.
