St. Mary Catholic School introduces new principals

St. Mary Catholic School introduces new principals

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - There's a change in management at St. Mary Catholic School; two students are taking over as principal! But it's just for today.

Brothers Ben and Clement Hearne are getting the chance to be co-principals. They made weekly announcements, handed out treats during lunch and ran a school-wide assembly. They're also changing the school's policies a little bit.

"Nobody ever gets in trouble,” said Ben. “You can do whatever you want!"

"I would put air conditioning in this building,” said Clement. “We only have air conditioning in this one room and it's terrible. It gets so hot."

Students were also awarded a magic show for reading more than 62,000 pages during book week.
