WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Bumps, sets, and spikes for a cause.
The sixth annual "Spike for Mike" Volleyball Tournament took place at Capt'n Bills in Wilmington on Saturday.
The event is held each year in honor of Mike Foucht, a former UNCW baseball player killed by a drunk driver in 2007.
Friends and family say Mike was very active in the local sports community.
Every year, they celebrate his life and honor his memory on the courts.
All proceeds go to a scholarship fund for a UNCW baseball player.
Organizers expect to raise nearly $3,000 for the scholarship this year.
