SOUTHEASTERN, NC (WECT) – If you're looking to celebrate Independence Day with a fireworks show, there are plenty to choose from. Here's a list of scheduled events for Wednesday in the WECT viewing area:
BALD HEAD ISLAND
- Golf cart parade, picnic and pool party beginning at 11 a.m.
- Fireworks cruise at 8 p.m.
BLADEN COUNTY
- Fireworks at sunset at Goldston's Beach in White Lake
CALABASH / CAROLINA SHORES
- Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. on the riverfront in Calabash
- Fireworks fly around 9 p.m.
FORT BRAGG
- Carnival rides with the family beginning at 3 p.m.
- Celebrations end with a fireworks display at sunset
- Main Post Parade Field, Gruber Road and Pratt Street
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH
- Fireworks show off the Cherry Grove Pier starts at 9 p.m.
ONSLOW COUNTY
- Freedom Festival kicks off in Onslow Pines Park at 3 p.m.
- Live bands perform from 5 until 9 p.m.
- Fireworks start at 9 p.m.
PLEASURE ISLAND
- Fireworks by the Sea and Boardwalk Blast Music (happening on Tuesday)
- Fireworks will begin at 9 p.m. and the gazebo entertainment begins at 6:30 p.m.
- Regular fireworks show begins Thursday night, July 5th, at 9 p.m.
SAMPSON COUNTY
- Musical festivities begin at Royal Lane Park at 3 p.m.
- Fireworks show begins at 9:30 p.m.
SOUTHPORT
- NC 4th of July Festival Parade kicks off at 11 a.m. right after the flag raising ceremony
- Firework show at 9 p.m.
WILMINGTON
- Riverfront celebration and street fair, with live entertainment and food vendors from 5 until 9 p.m.
- Wilmington Children's Museum is hosting its annual celebration from 5 until 8 p.m.
- Annual Battleship Blast fireworks show will begin at 9:05 p.m. Visitors should park on the side of Chestnut Street (North or South) that they plan to exit.
