City of Wilmington holiday trash tips | Home & Garden

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - According to officials with the City of Wilmington, trash pickup will take place as usual this and next week, and undecorated Christmas trees will be picked up at no extra cost.

All items need to curbside by 7:30 a.m. on normal pickup day for service.

City trash customers won't be charged for any excess trash on their first scheduled trash pickup following Christmas, but after that, customers will need to purchase stickers for any extra trash that does not fit in the trash receptacle.

Officials also advise that city customers with excess recycling can always place it in a box, bin or paper bag and set it beside the regular recycling bin and it will be picked up at no extra charge.

All cardboard boxes are asked to be broken down and flattened.

Foil wrapping paper is not recyclable, but all other wrapping paper is acceptable.
