Artists fill Wilmington Convention Center | News

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Folks in our area had a chance to see and buy art from artists around the Port City and around the country this weekend.

This is the Wilmington Art and Craft Show's first year at the Wilmington Convention Center. Judges choose the best work submitted in several categories.

Nancy Johnson is a photographer from West Virginia. This is the sixth art show she has traveled to. Just looking at her photos you would never guess she did not take them with a traditional camera.

"Sometimes just seeing a sign that says we took them with a cell phone brings them in to see them," she said.

She's been taking photos with her smart phone for a little more than a year. She does all the adjustments to the photos on her phone and then emails them to herself and prints them.

She said a lot of times people will take a look at her work and then notice the sign saying the photos were taken with a cell phone later.
