17-year-old boy arrested for stealing cell phone, wallet | News

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A 17-year-old boy was arrested for robbing a man around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Alton A. Williams was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a handgun by a minor and resisting, hindering or delaying a public official, according to Lucy Crockett with the Wilmington Police Department.
An officer was flagged down by a man who said he had been robbed at gun point near Harnett Street and N. Fifth Avenue by a man who took his cell phone and wallet.
The victim reportedly provided a detailed description of the robber, and officers stopped a man matching the description in the general area where the robbery occurred.
As of 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Williams was in custody at the New Hanover County detention facility under a $50,000 bond.
