WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Justin Lacy, the front man of Justin Lacy and the Swimming Machine, has started a kickstarter account to raise money to record a high quality album.

Benefactors can donate money to their cause just by clicking on kickstarter.com.

But there is a catch - you have a limited time frame in which you can accept money.  If the goal is not reached, all money is returned to donors and you earn nothing.

Starting Dec. 2 Justin Lacy and the Swimming Machine will have 40 days to earn $5,000. If they reach their goal or make more than $5,000, they keep all of the money, and they get to make their album.

Although a home recording is possible, Lacy says a professionally mixed and mastered album is needed to represent their band and for them to move forward. Those who want an album will receive one, they are just paying for it before its made.

Justin Lacy and the Swimming Machine will host a kickstarter kick off show at Satellite Bar and Lounge December 2 at 9:00 p.m.
