Commissioners deny Berger's request for his own TV show | News
WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – New Hanover County Commissioner
Brian Berger sent an email to the county's marketing department expressing
interest in having his own TV show on the county government channel, NHCTV.
Unfortunately for Berger, commissioners have shot down his
plans so he won't be getting his own program.
NHCTV provides programming to educate citizens on the
happenings of county government and its local resources. Like any other
channel, NHCTV has a set list of rules and regulations – including a rule that
states no partisan cause will be aired.
Another rule mandates that access to NHCTV for the purpose
of advocating a personal viewpoint shall generally be denied.
Currently, Chairman's Chat offers the viewpoint of the
county commissioners, and the former chairman and co-host say that's how it
should stay.
