All StarNews employees offered jobs under new owners | News
WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - All employees at the Wilmington StarNews have been offered employment under the new ownership, Halifax Media Holdings, LLC, according to Facebook posts from employees.
The New York Times Co. agreed to sell the StarNews and 15 other newspapers to Halifax in a deal secured earlier this week.
StarNews Executive Editor Robyn Tomlin posted the news on Facebook Thursday afternoon.
"Happy to report that all of the amazingly talented, hard-working folks in my newsroom and across our building have been offered employment with the new owners of the StarNews -- Halifax Media," Robyn Tomlin wrote.
At the time of the purchase, Halifax indicated a "vast majority" of workers would be offered employment.
