Domestic Violence program in Wilmington gets state grant
WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The North Carolina Board of Transportation awarded a domestic violence program in Wilmington with a grant worth more than a thousand dollars this month.
Domestic Violence Shelter and Services Inc. of Wilmington will receive $1,125 through the division's Intercity Bus Program.
The funds, which are being matched locally to double the total, will help victims of domestic violence in this area escape violent situations with transportation.
