BB&T jamboree field set | News

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) –The 26th annual BB&T Football Jamboree is scheduled for August 10 at Legion Stadium.

The jamboree begins at 5 p.m. with a cheerleading showcase, followed by five scrimmages. Game one between Jacksonville and South Columbus is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

Other matchups that night include New Hanover vs. West Brunswick, Ashley vs. Wallace-Rose Hill, Laney vs. South Brunswick, and Hoggard vs. Whiteville.

Each game consists of two 12-minute periods.

Proceeds from last year's event totaled $37,028, enough to fund 20 $1,000 scholarships (two per school).

Since its inception in 1989, approximately $1,020,256 has been raised for southeastern North Carolina high schools.
