Ending the season on a happy note | News

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - "This is a search for love," said actor Bob Workmon about Frank Loesser's musical The Most Happy Fella.

That search starts with a simple message on a menu, written by Tony, a grape rancher in Napa Valley, to a waitress at a diner in San Francisco who he calls Rosabella.

"They both want something or someone desperately to come fill a big gap in their lives," said Workmon. "Rosabella doesn't know she's searching for love until she gets Tony's note."

"She decides to go and she wants to go and find out who he is and see what it's all about and see if he's what she's really looking for," said actress Amy Tucker-Morgan.

"She has a very different idea about who he is," said Workmon. "She knows something about him from his letters and something surprising perhaps from the photograph he sends her. It also leads to some romantic entanglement that was unanticipated."

Because the path to happiness is not always easy, but at least this one comes with a lot of excitement along the way.

"[It has] big dance numbers and fun, lots and lots of fun and a big cast and great music," said Tucker-Morgan. "I think it's something Wilmington hasn't seen before. That's what I think is so neat about it."
