WILMINGTON, NC
(WECT) - 225 years after the founding fathers adopted the Constitution dozens
of people pledged their allegiance to the United States in Wilmington.
Monday marks the
anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution. The day is known as
Constitution Day. Dozens of people stood on the deck of the Battleship North
Carolina to celebrate their new citizenship.
83 people became new
citizens. More than 30 countries were represented in Monday's ceremony.
Organizers said they
always try to have a ceremony around Monday's date.
