News
Jennifer Davis used to be employed at a local halfway house, but drug agents arrested her this week and accused her of selling prescription drugs.

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Drug agents recently stopped an alleged drug dealer from selling medications from inside a local halfway house.

Agents with the US Marshals Task Force arrested Jennifer Davis this week.

According to officials with the Bannum Place of Wilmington, which is a federal halfway house located at 719 Princess Street, Davis served as a counselor and aide.

Drug agents said Davis was selling prescription drugs from inside the halfway house. No other details were released regarding the type of drugs she was selling or, on who she was selling them to while working at the house.

WECT.com called Bannum on Tuesday for a comment. The person who picked up said Davis is no longer employed there and then hung up the phone.

Davis is charged with two counts of selling and delivering a Schedule II controlled substance and two counts of trafficking opium or heroin.

Bannum Place of Wilmington is a part of the federal prison system.
