BBB warning customers about company claiming to be Wilmington-based | News

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Better Business Bureau is warning customers about a company that claims it's based in Wilmington.

The company is selling car conversion kits on its website, www.hidkitxenonlights.com.

The BBB has received eight complaints about the business from consumers across the country. Customers have complained that once they get the kits, they are broken or don't fit on a person's car.

Despite the website stating there's a 100 percent lifetime guarantee on the product, Kathy Graham from the BBB says the business refuses to accept returns and replace the product.

Many of the buyers spent $100 or more on the kits.

Graham said the website claims the company is based in Wilmington, but when working with county officials, it was determined their address does not exist.

Officials are working to find out where the company is based.

The BBB is warning consumers to avoid buying anything from the website.
