Strong wind damages Ironworks building | News

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Powerful winds early Friday morning damaged a portion of the roof on the Ironworks building, which is behind the Cape Fear Serpentarium.

Dean Ripa, who owns the Sepentarium, said the metal on the roof was knocked off. Ripa also owns the Ironworks building and is in the process of renovating it to expand the Serpentarium.

He says they were going to remove the metal anyway and nothing was damaged when the wind blew it off the building.

Construction workers were on the Ironworks building working on repairs Friday afternoon.
