Four athletes join Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame

Four athletes were inducted into the Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame Wednesday morning.

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Four athletes were inducted into the Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame Wednesday morning.

A ceremony for the following 2013 inductees will be held Sunday, May 5:

  • Kenny Gattison, who played basketball at New Hanover High School and moved on to be a player and assistant coach in the NBA.
  • Glenn Sasser, who was a high school football coach at New Hanover High School and South Brunswick High School.
  • Thell Overman, who was a football coach at Wallace-Rose Hill.
  • Maggie Will, a golfer from Whiteville and part of the Ladies Professional Golf Association.

Including this class, there are 36 members of the Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame.
