UPDATE: Popular Wilmington server dies in accident on his birthday

Detectives with the Wilmington Police Department have ruled the death of a man found near the intersection of Fourth and Nun Streets Friday morning accidental.

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A downtown Wilmington restaurant and its patrons are mourning the death of a Caprice Bistro server.

Detectives with the Wilmington Police Department said Lee Anthony Nam, 48, died from a massive head injury when he accidentally fell in the 300 block of S. Fourth Street Friday morning.

A neighbor found Nam on the street just before 8 a.m. and called 911, according to police.

Friends of Nam tell WECT.com that today was his birthday.

Workers at Caprice Bistro said they're waiting to hear from Nam's family before they plan a memorial to honor his life.

Those who knew Nam are posting messages on the restaurant's Facebook page, saying he will be greatly missed. Nam worked at the restaurant for several years.
