Bed and breakfast permit holders can rest easy

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT)- Council members in Wilmington decided during their meeting Tuesday night to hold off on making any decisions that would change how bed and breakfasts operate in the city.

An issue came to light when a resident wanted to open a new B&B but was told there were no more permits available. City staff found that over half of the current permit holders were not actively operating B&Bs.

Some members of Council felt that current permit holders should have to reapply after a certain time to prove that were operating a B&B

Council wanted to hear more input from residents and B&B owners before they made a final decision.
