NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Cape Fear Community College will open an art gallery inside the Hanover Street parking deck Friday afternoon.

The first floor of the new deck includes over 2,000 square feet of art gallery space and will be known as Hanover Art Gallery.

The public is invited to the grand opening of the parking deck Friday, March 30 at 3:00 p.m.  The event is free and will feature a juried art show of work by CFCC students.

“Having a professional gallery space for student artwork is very exciting,” said Frank Carter, chair of CFCC’s Humanities and Fine Arts Department.  “We have some incredibly talented students. The facility will allow student work to have much greater exposure.”

Until now, there was no dedicated space for student artwork other than inside the library and in classroom building hallways.
