Local salon hosts 'Hair Can Help' fundraiser this Saturday

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Imago Salon owner Chad Bean will be hosting a “Hair Can Help” fundraiser to benefit the national charities Beautiful Lengths and Locks of Love.

Bean has been preparing for this event for over a year and the evidence is all in his hair. Bean's hair is now 14” in length, and the highest bidders in the auction will take turns cutting a load off his head. This event will also be accepting tax-deductible donations for two local Wilmington charities: the Domestic Violence Shelter of Wilmington and the Adopt-An-Angel program. Donations can be given to either organization at the event.

This event will take place at Imago Studio, located at 106 Water St. #109, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 9.

“I don't cut my hair off very often, so I thought it would be a great opportunity to raise awareness for not just donating hair, but for some of our local non-profit organizations,” said Bean in a news release. In addition, anyone eligible to donate his or her own hair will receive a free haircut at the studio.
