WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Crews from Cape Fear Public Utility Authority responded to a water main break Wednesday morning in Wilmington.
It happened at the intersection of Third and Wooster Streets. A six-inch iron pipe, aged between 60 and 80 years old, broke close to the intersection.
The water main break caused some traffic problems in that area for westbound traffic, according to Wilmington Fire Chief David Hines.
Units with the Wilmington Fire and Police Departments had blocked three of the four westbound lanes, but as of 5:00 p.m. they had hoped to have the road fixed and back open within 15 minutes.
According to CFPUA, no customers were affected by the break.
