Photo Gallery | Men, Ink. magazine launches with 'he-cathlon'

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A local magazine for dads recently evolved into a full-blown publication for men.

Cape Fear Dads has now become Men, Ink.  The magazine held its launch party at Front Street Brewery in downtown Wilmington with a He-cathlon Saturday, which is similar to a decathlon, but with beer pong and darts.

"We needed something to kick off our debut issue of Men, Ink, so we thought, 'What do guys like to do?' said editor-in-chief David Frederiksen. "They like to run around, act crazy, and have a beer or two...so we kind of built our event around that."

There were "she's" involved in the race, but ultimately, a guy took home the top prize.

The free magazine will hit topics from fatherhood to feel-good stories.

For now, it will be released quarterly.
